Issue Position

As a product of public education, I understand the importance and value of education and will always vote to protect and better our public education system. No child should be left behind because we providided him or her with an inadequate and substandard education. Our children deserve more, and as your next state Senator, I will fight to ensure that teachers and students have all the resources they need to be successful in the global world.

I believe that it takes a community to educate a child as well as believe that a child should never do just enough to get by or accept being average. I know that involved teachers, parents, and community members can help us take our children's academic attainment to the next level.

Under my watch, Mississippi children will get a quality, public education and will be provided with every opportunity to succeed. Their educational sucess will be driven by adequate state funding, innovation, well-trained teachers, community engagement, and parental support.
